Anyone in the world By Susan Daniel Proposing marriage to your beloved is a very big step. You get the ring, but then you dont know when, where, or how to actually pop the question. You want it to be an event that both of you will remember for a lifetime. Some things to consider are listed below. 1. Being creative. Creativity does not have to cost a lot of money. 2. Including romance. Find out what she thinks is romantic and then make it happen. 3. Being sensitive. Do not embarrass her by being very public about the proposal when she is a very private person. 4. Saying the wrong thing. Be careful not to say the wrong thing. 5. Picking a place. Consider very carefully where to propose. 6. Picking a time. If she is not a morning person, that is probably not the time. 7. Getting help from friends. Dont be hesitant to enlist the help of others. 8. Making it memorable. She will tell the story many, many times. 9. Using a video camera. Decide if you want it recorded. You may just want someone to use a camera. 10. Getting down on one knee and not forgetting the ring! There are many ways to propose marriage to the one you love. With a little effort, it will be a very memorable and happy event. Take the time to research and decide on the perfect way to propose. Anyone in the world By Donna L. Watkins I was reading an article on health and emotions the other day and read this quote by Dr. Joseph Mercola: "Although it is still often overlooked, emotional health is absolutely essential to your physical health and healing - no matter how devoted you are to the proper diet and lifestyle, you will not achieve your body's ideal healing and preventative powers if emotional barriers stand in your way." We really do have to keep a handle on our emotions. We have to consider it all joy and find the place of rest that God gives us in all circumstances. To choose otherwise is foolish, but to choose takes us having on full armor to fight the enemy who seeks to destroy us. What happens to us physiologically when we laugh and smile. Is there a difference if you make yourself smile opposed to having a genuine smile? You'll be surprised to find out research shows that you can have the same physiological benefit even if you force yourself to keep a smile on your face. Let's begin our journey on this "healing laughter" series with a devotional from the book, "Healing in His Wings" by Anne Buchanan, Ph.D., M.H. All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast. (Proverbs 15:15 NIV) Joy in your body brings health; sadness, despair, and depression do not. It can be hard to be cheerful when you feel sick, but the paradox is that the more you focus on gladness, the more you create an internal environment for healing. This concept was popularized most spectacularly by Norman Cousins who became very ill with a collagen disease in the mid-1960s. Even though he was in constant pain and felt like crying all the time, he embarked on an experiment using laughter to stimulate his healing. He found movies, jokes, and stories that were funny, hilarious, and just plain silly. The more he laughed, the less pain he felt. He used joy to activate his immune system and endocrine system into proper functioning. When he had succumbed to the oppression of the disease, Cousins felt wretched. When he developed a cheerful heart, he found he had a continual feast of gradually improving recovery. Ten minutes of belly laughter produced two hours of sleep without pain. Hours of laughter each day produced more and more healing in his body which was confirmed by consistent laboratory tests. This was not a case of Dr. Cousins' willing himself to be a Pollyanna. This was a situation of immersing himself fully in joy and allowing his soul, mind, emotions, and body to unite in harmony in the positive experience of cheerfulness. How much do you laugh during the day? Do you take your life and your illness or injury so seriously that there is no room for joy to fill you? Every cell in your body can feel the vibrations of God's joy. Make a list of the things that make you laugh the deep- down, roll-on-the-floor belly laugh - humor that is so funny to you that you laugh until tears roll down your cheeks. That is the laughter of healing. Create your own "Laugh for Health" collection. Ask your friends and family members to send you clippings or jokes - anything to add to your collection and to give you fresh material. Make a commitment to spend time every day immersed in humor and in laughter. Make a joyful noise to the Lord. Come before Him with gladness. Thank You, God, for the healing power of a cheerful heart. Thank You for the pure joy of laughing and laughing and laughing. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen. Donna L. Anyone in the world By Michael Carter What is the average cost of college tuition? This is one question that most parents and future students ask themselves and need to know in order to plan for a college education. The national average college tuition rate for public universities is $4,694 per year for in state residents. This figure includes both tuition rates and fees for a full time student. The average college tuition rate at private colleges and universities is around $20,000 per year in tuition and fees. Many students take advantage of the low tuition rates of two-year public colleges and junior colleges. The average tuition for a two year school is only $2,076 per year. College Tuition Increase While it is good to get an idea of the current cost of tuition, it is also important to understand the expected increase in tuition costs. Students who still have several years before entering college and their families should be keenly aware of the projected estimates rather than the current costs so that they can plan accordingly. Tuition rates increase at about twice the general inflation rate. On average, tuition rates tend to increase about 8% per year. Some academic years see a greater increase than others and many economic factors come into play when a college decides to increase tuition. For the school year 2005-2006 many colleges dramatically raised tuition rates. An example of such tuition hikes is at the University of Colorado where tuition rates have been raised for all of the system's campuses. Tuition at the Boulder campus will go up by 27.8 percent, from $3,480 to $4,446. Other University of Colorado campuses will see a similar increase. And now the good news... Even though college tuition rates increase, more students than ever are benefiting from educational aid programs. According to a report from The College Board, In 2003-04, the amount the average student actually paid for a public four-year institution, after receiving grant aid and education tax benefits, was about $1,300 per student. Government grants such as the pell grant provide funding for many college students. In fact for students who attend two-year colleges the grant award may cover the entire cost of tuition. Scholarship programs awarded by colleges, businesses and non profit organizations are available to help students defray the cost of college tuition. There are many college scholarship programs available and it is becoming even easier to find these programs with the use of the internet. With a combination of savings, financial aid, and scholarships many students today are able to afford college tuition and further their education. Michael Carter is a contributor at College Financial Aid Guide, an online informational resource for educational funding, scholarships and student loans. Anyone in the world By Ibrahim Machiwala Chemically, fatty acids can be described as long-chain monocarboxylic acids and have a general structure of CH3(CH2)nCOOH. The length of the chain usually ranges from 12 to 24, always with an even number of carbons. When the carbon chain contains no double bonds, it is called saturated. If it contains one or more such bonds, it is unsaturated. The presence of double bonds generally reduces the melting point of fatty acids. Glycerides are lipids possessing a glycerol (propan-1, 2, 3-triol) core structure with one or more fatty acyl groups, which are fatty acid-derived chains attached to the glycerol backbone by ester linkages. Glycerides with three acyl groups (triglycerides or neutral fats) are the main storage form of fat in animals and plants. Guard against elevated cholesterol diet with an Advanced Lipoprotein Fingerprinting, a more precise cholesterol test that allows doctors to identify health risks that traditional screens miss. The process separates lipids in the blood to create a detailed cholesterol profile that helps doctors identify patients at risk for heart disease. The detailed graph allows a doctor to precisely analyze a patient's overall risk profile and monitor the effectiveness of a diet or treatment regimen. LipidLabs refined the Advanced Lipoprotein Fingerprinting Process and the results translate to more accurate and specific data on which to make clinical judgments and guide patient therapy and prevention at reasonable costs. Lipid patients should consider diet to lower down cholesterol level and reduce lipid problems. The nutrient content as follows is advised for the patients to practice. Nutrient Content:

Anyone in the world By Michael Tummillo No matter what your "brand" of Christianity may be, this message is for YOU. Last Saturday, I was the Emcee at the North Central Texas House Church Conference in Dallas, Texas. A very interesting thing happened that, frankly, whether one is involved in a House Church or a traditional congregation, sooner or later, might need to be addressed. Apparently, a few attendees were bothered by what one man referred to as the "charismatic flavor" of the conference when, after his message, the keynote speaker spoke in tongues and invited people to come forward who might need prayer. The comment I received by email was: "I was especially upset at the charismatic flavor at the very end of the conference. I simply do not see the kind of prophecy and speaking in tongues that was manifested by several people at the end [in the New Testament House Churches]. I felt like I was on the set of TBN [he was referring to the Trinity Broadcasting Network]. I would not say God didn't use it... I'm just saying I don't see this kind of practice in the N.T." Another attendee wrote and said: "If this is to be a "charismatic movement" conference, it should be advertised as such..." A third wrote saying, "I don't see evidence of the TBN/Pentecostal style 'gifts' in the New Testament." For starters, the Pentecostal "movement" is the fastest growing brand of Christianity going these days, crossing all denominational lines and coming to a church near you. So-called "charismatic services" have even made their way even into Catholic churches. A Nazarene preacher told me that he was struggling with teaching on the spiritual gifts because, even though his denomination taught AGAINST speaking in tongues, he wasn't so convinced. When I was the Assistant Pastor at a Baptist college church, more and more of the students began moving in the gifts of the Spirit as He manifested Himself through them. One young man informed me that his mom said he wasn't a very good Baptist anymore. Another fellow asked what was happening to all his friends as they were speaking in tongues, receiving visions and dreams and words of knowledge and prophesying, etc. He was especially impressed with the attitude of boldness that some of his classmates were expressing. His comment to me was, "I don't understand it. I've been in church all my life and I haven't changed!" I attended a Baptist service in Fort Worth where the Pastor spoke in tongues and a Korean and an Italian woman EACH heard him say something different in their own language that edified the congregation. This was THAT spoken of by the prophet Joel (Acts 2;16-18): And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy. A Church of Christ woman confided in me many years ago that she had spoken in tongues at a friend's Bible study. In recent years, several people from Catholic and Baptist backgrounds have tearfully explained to me that, although they truly felt they had been blessed with a particular spiritual gift, their greatest frustration was in not knowing how to develop it and where to use it. "BEING" THE CHURCH TRUMPS "GOING" EVERY TIME Yesterday, a man who said he was 7th Day Adventist challenged me after attending my Bible study. He wrongly assumed that I was a Sunday church-goer. I told him we should all be Adventists...1st day, 2nd day, 3rd, day, etc. I encouraged him that worship of God was not about gathering on a certain day in a certain building at the appointed time, singing a few songs, dropping some money in the plate and listening to a guy talk for an hour. Instead, it's a 24/7 thing - a lifestyle that can only be "fleshed out" when the King dwelling within His people is allowed to live THROUGH them. In my own house church meetings, we don't quench the gifts of the Spirit from flowing. We simply listen and obey. How else will individuals explore and develop their spiritual gifts? Where if not there? Not long ago, a woman who attends the Church of Christ contacted me saying that 'something' was missing from her Christianity. Several from our HC met that very afternoon to pray over her. Though she didn't receive the gift of tongues (yet), she DID testify to receiving the promised POWER when He came upon her, writing me the next day and saying, "...as I drove home yesterday afternoon I felt as though I had downed three double espressos and a healthy dose of B-12..." On another occasion at our House Church, a wonderful Christian girl requested prayer. At one point, while tears flowed down her cheeks as I was reminding her of how the Father loved her, she suddenly glared at me and, speaking in a very gruff voice, angrily barked, "She doesn't deserve it! She doesn't deserve it!" I had a similar experience in a traditional Baptist church on an Easter Sunday with a man who, it turned out, was a much-beloved seminary graduate. Try and minister in situations like that WITHOUT the gifts of the Spirit. I dare ya! (The Sons of Scheva just shouted, "Amen!") Contrary to what the individual wrote about not seeing this kind of practice in the New Testament, I beg to differ. The laying on of hands for the infilling of the Holy Spirit was everywhere and those people received POWER to change the world. Yes, they received tongues, too, as well as all the other gifts (otherwise Paul would not have written so much about their use of such gifts). God started the Church itself with the manifestation of speaking in tongues taking place at Pentecost. Miraculous healings, transformed lives were everywhere. Now, if any individual is centering their House Church experience around the meetings themselves and is actually saying that we read no biblical references to this type of thing happening at a NT House Church gatherings, he must bear in mind that neither the gatherings nor the houses themselves were, or are, The Church...no more than today's ornate church buildings can be considered "The Church." No, the Church is the people, the ekklesia, the "called out ones." Period. Being that we, as individuals, are the Ark of the New Covenant, carrying with us the very presence of God Himself, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells within us to the fullest extent that the King's subjects will allow Him - at a house church meeting or at Starbuck's. I had the best time "being Church" with a couple whom I had dinner with in Tye, Texas just last night. We even prayed with our waitress! A few weeks ago, I prayed with a 95-year old woman in a nursing home. I sang a hymn. We felt God's presence because we let Him shine THROUGH us. We had church! What one individual referred to as "TBN/Pentecostal style gifts," I prefer to call them the "gifts of the Spirit". As far as I'm concerned, we could use more Samaria-type meetings (Acts 8: 6-8, NKJV), "And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city." SIMPLY GET OUT OF THE WAY Within the House Church movement, the verse that is held to so dearly, shining the only true Biblical light on what a New Testament Church meeting looked like, is First Corinthians 14:26-33 (AMP), "What then, brethren, is [the right course]? When you meet together, each one has a hymn, a teaching, a disclosure of special knowledge or information, an utterance in a [strange] tongue, or an interpretation of it. [But] let everything be constructive and edifying and for the good of all. If some speak in a [strange] tongue, let the number be limited to two or at the most three, and each one [taking his] turn, and let one interpret and explain [what is said]. But if there is no one to do the interpreting, let each of them keep still in church and talk to himself and to God. So let two or three prophets speak [those inspired to preach or teach], while the rest pay attention and weigh and discern what is said. But if an inspired revelation comes to another who is sitting by, then let the first one be silent. For in this way you can give testimony [prophesying and thus interpreting the divine will and purpose] one by one, so that all may be instructed and all may be stimulated and encouraged; For the spirits of the prophets (the speakers in tongues) are under the speaker's control [and subject to being silenced as may be necessary], For He [Who is the source of their prophesying] is not a God of confusion and disorder but of peace and order..." Does this not sound like a "TBN/Pentecostal meeting" to you? During the first 3 centuries of the Church, such matters were non-issues. Why? Because these gifts of the Holy Spirit were in total operation within the Church, untainted by years of tradition and institutionalized structure. The gifts of the Spirit ceased operation in Christian meetings around the same time that Constantine created the foundation of what we would call the Institutional Church today. If Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever, then He is still doing the same things for us today. If we LET Him, that is. JESUS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING! What many try to explain away as being a "new dispensation," claiming that the gifts died off with the last apostle, I define as a lack of faith or, at the very least, a weak level of spirituality. Such well-meaning individuals have never experienced this side of God and are tainted by institutionalized religion which leaves no room for the Spirit to minister. As a result, all they know of Christian meetings is routine and manmade traditions. Flesh begets flesh; spirit begets spirit. We can't cast out the flesh unfortunately. We have to personally SUBDUE it in our own lives. I wasn't always a believer in the manifestations of the Spirit's gifts. I got this way in the 7th grade when I started looking for things that my denomination was teaching that simply weren't found in the Bible. At the same time, I FOUND things that were never even discussed in my church. Then, I decided to follow the teachings (doctrine) of Jesus; the decrees of the King. It rocked my world! First Thessalonians 5:19 reads, "Do not quench the Spirit." This verse may be translated: "Stop quenching the Spirit." With all the streams that are crossing these days, if you haven't already experienced the Pentecostal influence in your gatherings, you will. How will you handle it? It's worth discussing. I'm not sure how the one individual can write "I would not say God didn't use it..." and yet allow "it" to upset him simultaneously. Many people were blessed by the Spirit as He moved upon their lives throughout the Conference. Based upon the email I'm STILL getting from Conference Attendees, the residue still remains 7 days later. From the man who only stayed long enough to receive a word of confirmation through one speaker's teaching to the man who received a Word of prophecy that confirmed what God had already shown him to the Baptist couple who confessed that they came EXPECTING to hear us "bash" the traditional church and were greatly blessed by the love they felt...God was ministering to His people by doing these things and more. He moved upon people's hearts to pay for the auditorium before we ever gathered there, He moved on them to provide resources, He moved on the hotel manager to give us a free suite for our traveling speakers. He wants to move in those ways right there in your House Church groups and every church congregation as well, whether it's at your appointed meeting times or anywhere you - The Church - go in between. My prayer is that all who participate in House Churches, as well as traditional gatherings, will allow the Holy Spirit the freedom to move to the fullest extent that He desires. My promise, however, is that, sooner or later, you WILL be confronted with a similar situation where someone in your group is made downright uncomfortable by anything that smacks of Pentecostalism or "the set of TBN." I also promise that, as one British friend said to me: "It won't be tidy...there has NEVER been a tidy move of God." Some people will undoubtedly "get their knickers in a twist." They always have and always will. (Incidentally, during the darkest hour of my soul, I penned a letter to TBN. Jan Crouch, wife of station owner Paul Crouch, wrote me back an encouraging, life-changing, hand written letter on TBN letterhead. That blue-haired lady with the fake lashes literally saved my life!) Anyone in the world By Rosemary Hauschild Most individual innovators inventors, authors, software developers, artists, etc. -- assume there is a logical, sequential process involved in getting their products to market. So, most of their initial activities usually focus on getting the invention from the brain to the drawing board to prototype. Unfortunately, once the prototype is complete, a very large percentage of inventors hit the wall and are stymied by how to market their product. This situation doesnt need to happen! In fact, many marketing steps can and should be taken concurrently, or even prior to, the product taking shape and form. So, where should you start? Here are 5 key steps that will help you build a strong foundation for marketing: 1.Begin networking early. Well-known Minnesota businessman and author, Harvey McKay, says it all in the title of his networking book: Dig Your Well Before You Need It. If you have not cultivated key contacts in your area of expertise by the time your product is ready to market, you will waste precious months, even years, knocking on doors that probably would have swung open to you if you had developed key relationships while working on perfecting your invention. 2.Conduct initial market research before you approach the drawing board. While some innovations dont seem to make any sense at all, most are designed to solve some sort of problem. As the innnovator, your problem is to be sure that there are enough other people who are seeking your solution. If there are not enough potential consumers, do you really want to spend your time and money for things like prototypes and patents or editors and copyrights? So, head for the library or retail outlets or any other place that will give you a sense (a) if something similar already exists or (b) if retail buyers or customers are looking for what you can create. 3.Protect your product as soon as it is feasible to do so. Just recently I talked with an inventor who had some interest in coaching. What I soon discovered was that a major magazine was about to feature his invention in depth (Great for marketing, right?), but he had not yet secured a patent! At the end of our conversation, I referred him to a patent attorney and suggested we discuss coaching at a later time. Of course, not every product carries a patent, copyright or trademark, but if your idea has strong market potential, as this mans did, you will want to be sure that you have retained an intellectual property attorney and that all of your legal protections are in place. 4.Discover a wide variety of vendor resources. While innovation can be a lonely process, its not something you can do successfully by yourself. As soon as your idea takes shape in your mind is the time to connect with prototype providers, raw materials vendors, manufacturers, publishers, art dealers, marketing consultants, a coach, accountants, and other professionals you will need along the way. If you dont know anyone in these fields, start asking questions and attending meetings of local professional groups, the Small Business Administration and tradeshows. Then, start talking to the vendors you meet, so when your product is ready, you will already have these key relationships in place. 5.Planning to self-market? Educate yourself now, reserve your domain name and find ways to connect with your potential market. Weve all heard the stories about internet marketers who make $500,000 overnight. While some may actually happen that way, there is almost always a story behind the story in these situations. Usually, you will find that the Internet entrepreneur has spent months or years learning the secrets of Internet copywriting; works with a technical assistant to produce the marketing website; supports the website with product pre-launch communications; and has a loyal following of 1,000 or more customers already in place. So, what appears to be an overnight success story is frequently the culmination of becoming computer and Internet savvy over a long period of time. In short, just as with networking, you need to dig your internet well before you need it, and the time to start digging is while you are creating your product. 2005-2006. All rights reserved. Anyone in the world By Christopher Ruane Insomnia is a sleep disorder which can be subdivided into three areas. It is characterized by any of the following: a) light, interrupted sleep that one is still tired upon waking up b) not being able to sleep, even if fatigued, c) lack of sleeping hours. Insomnia can be classified into three types based on the length of time it affects an individual. Transient insomnia lasts less than a week. It is due to changes in living or working conditions. Then there is Short-term insomnia, or acute transient insomnia, which lasts for less than three weeks and has similar origin as transient insomnia. Finally there is, chronic insomnia which may be classified as primary or secondary: 1) Primary chronic insomnia - not caused by any physical or mental condition.
2) Secondary chronic insomnia due to physical and mental problems, such as depressive illness, or emotional and psychiatric illness. Insomnia is symptomatic of underlying disease or imbalance, Knowing the cause of insomnia is very important before deciding on a course of action such as medication. Depressive illness is the most common cause of chronic insomnia, more so in the elderly. One study indicates that depressed elderly patients, if suffering from insomnia, have a tendency to be depressed for over a year. Another study shows that even if an elderly patient suffers from insomnia, without any prior depressive illness, they have a high risk of being depressed and is usually seen in women. Insomnia can affect ones' lifestyle in a negative way. Worrying, then causes depression. Symptoms of depression are characterized by sadness or misery. Many people have experienced some temporary feelings like this at one time. Clinical depression is a mood disorder indicated by feelings of sadness, anger or frustration. Such symptoms can affect daily life for an extended period of time. Another interesting point you may not be aware of is that some medications used for symptoms of depression can cause insomnia. This is because these medications change the quantity of mood chemicals to make the patient more positive again but at times, these make the patient anxious also. Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft are known as serotonin-reuptake inhibitors. Serotonin is an important monoamine neurotransmitter that plays a large role in depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders. Some serotonin is converted by the pineal gland, the pea-sized gland at the center of the brain, into melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone that helps regulate the sleeping and waking cycles. In addition to the prescribed medications to treat insomnia, a patient may also practice the following procedures to combat insomnia. * Control exposure to caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. These three substances are known to disrupt one's normal sleeping patterns.
* Maintain regular sleeping time and waking time. This would help in maintaining the circadian rhythm thus minimizing the effects of fatigue caused by insomnia. * Regular exercise is good for the body but this shouldn't be done late in the afternoon or early in the evening. This is because exercise tends to start-up the body. If the body has gained more energy by the end of the day, this can prevent one from being able to sleep at night. * Go to be only when about to sleep. Reading or watching TV in bed is discouraged or to be avoided. When the mind is conditioned that the bed is for sleeping, once one goes to bed, he or she can readily get some sleep. * Eat meals regularly. Meal intake affects biological activities due to increased blood blow to the stomach. These pointers may be helpful in managing conditions associated with insomnia. Still, some situations require sleep-promoting medications prescribed by a medical specialist. Anyone in the world By Waller Jamison Losing weight, particularly if you are seriously overweight or obese, can feel like an uphill struggle and having a good support network is essential if you are to reach your goal. Its not just a case of losing x number of pounds a complete change of lifestyle is necessary if you are to reach your ideal weight and maintain it. And this isnt easy, given the hectic schedules that most of us are up against. Cutting out junk food, eating a healthy, balanced diet and combining all that with sufficient exercise to ensure weight loss is tough and if you want to succeed long-term, you need support. But what if your family, friends and colleagues just arent supportive enough? It may be that they are just to busy to accompany you to the gym or on a weekend walk or that they dont need to lose weight and so arent prepared to join in your healthy eating plan. Or its possible that youve been trying to shed the pounds for so long that they have become just as discouraged as you are. Whatever the reason, you dont have to go it alone. The internet has opened up a huge number of possibilities for people to connect with like-minded folk and there are many strong online communities which aim to support you as you lose weight and build a healthier, happier life. The big advantage of an online support network is that everyone knows exactly what you are going through and how difficult it is to keep on track. Other dieters understand the constant battle to say no to sugary and fat-laden snacks and they wont get tired of listening to you, because they need your support too. They know all about the lack of self-esteem and the guilt you experience after a midnight binge. And because the internet puts you in touch with people all over the globe, there is always someone online and so you are never alone, even if temptation strikes in the middle of the night. Many online groups offer not only a forum, where you can find friendship and expert advice, but also resources such as diet sheets, exercise workouts and plenty of tips to keep you motivated. So if you are finding it difficult to stick to your resolution to lose weight this year, give yourself a boost and find some support online. Anyone in the world By Amyobus Key Sasuke's weapons pierced what appeared to be their teacher, but the
transformation reverted to its original, and the weapons projected
harmlessly from a log. Kakashi had determined Sasuke's location, dropping
his guard on purpose to create a trap. Sakura rushed from hiding, worried
about Sasuke, only to be confronted by an image of the boy she loves
pleading for help. Sakura screamed and fainted. From nearby, a casual
teacher, muttered: "Maybe I overdid it. But she should have noticed if it
was real or not. That was Ninja tactic number two." The real Sasuke confronts his teacher, attacks with arms and feet and is
able to surprise him by getting close enough to touch one of the
bells which would have earned him a victory if only he had grasped it.
Kakashi says in surprise, "I'll admit that you're different from those two." But Sasuke is already resuming his attack. He creates a seal for horse
and tiger, to which his teacher stares in amazement: "What? That
technique is not something a Genin can do. He shouldn't have
enough Chakra." Sasuke sends a stream of fire from his breath,
enveloping his teacher, but when the smoke clears, Kakashi is gone. He is
not behind nor anywhere above. A voice yells, "Beneath you!" An arm comes from the earth and drags
Sasuke under, leaving him with only his head sticking out. Kakashi kneels
before him. "This is the third Ninja tactic know-how." Then he adds,
"Looks like your talents are exceptional, but they say that stakes that
point out get driven back into the ground." A short time later, Sakura appears and sees Sasuke's head on the ground.
Her eyes pop open when Sasuke calls her name, and she freaks out, thinking
it is a severed head calling to her. After she awakes from the faint,
she finds Sasuke kneeling beside her. She is happy that he is all right,
and suggests that they try harder next time but give up for now. Sasuke
glares at her. He is not a quitter. He mutters a confused story
about a mysterious man that he must kill. As he speaks, the clock alarm
rings twelve noon. They have run out of time. The test is over. Back at the starting point where Naruto is tied to a post, Kakashi informs
his stunned students that they need not return to the academy. They
are so bad, they should quit being ninjas. He asks them a very important
question which they cannot answer: "Why do you think we're training by
breaking into groups?" He reveals the answer. "It is for teamwork. If all
three had come together, maybe one would have acquired a bell.
Sakura asks, "Why do we need to use teamwork, where there are only two
bells?" It is because the test tries to put the three against each other. It is
to find students who put teamwork before their own personal interests. But
they were pathetic. Sakura cared more about Sasuke than Naruto. All
Naruto did was work on his own. And Sasuke believed the other two were
just going to burden him. But missions are done in groups. "If you
become captured. Someone will die. In every mission, you put your life
on the line." Kakashi-sensei says he will give them all one more chance later after
lunch. They are to eat lunch only if they are up to the challenge. But
they must not permit Naruto to eat, and he is to remain tied up. It is
his punishment for breaking the rules and trying to eat lunch early.
Anyone who feeds him will fail. Kakashi steps away, and Sasuke and
Sakura begin to eat their lunches. Naruto, unable to move, is famished,
and his stomach is growling loudly. But Sasuke notes that Kakashi is not
nearby, and he says that if they are going to get the bells together, it
is only going to be trouble if Naruto is hungry. He offers food to
his starving teammate. Sakura agrees and she also offers her lunch to
Naruto. Because his hands are tied, she must feed him. Naruto takes the first bite, and there is a loud clap of thunder and
smoke. Kakashi has returned and is very angry! "You three broke the
rule! Are you prepared for the punishment? Are there any last words?"
Sakura is about to faint again, Naruto is quaking in fear, and Sasuke
is silent and filled with dread. Sasuke and Sakura jump to be beside
Naruto, announcing that they are in this together. They are a three-man
team. They are one. "You there are one, eh?" says their teacher. His dark look washes away.
Then he nods, "You pass! You three are the first. The students I had
previously were blockheads who just listened to what I said. Ninjas need
to think beyond the normal. In the world of ninjas, those who break the
rules are called scum. But those who don't care about their friends are
even worse scum." Naruto appears to want to cry, and says, "He's kind of cool." The training has ended. Everyone passes for the first time ever. The 7th
group will begin their missions the next day. From this episode we learn that the fundamentals of being a ninja do
not merely involve a great number of tactical knows-hows and magical
skills. Instead, there are significant principles that are required for
the success of any group. For the first time, these bickering, selfish
children, have worked in unison, and appear capable of engaging in future
missions that will test their responsibility and loyalty to each
other. It is not about who loves whom, and who hates whom, but of
co-ordinating and being there for the assistance and support of one
another. The group must be a family in the true sense. The adventures of Naruto are a training ground, not only for the
characters, but for the enraptured fans, and this episode is at the heart
of why the Naruto stories stand out head and shoulders above all other
