Are You Engaged?
by maurice pye - Friday, 8 February 2008, 11:41 PM
Anyone in the world
By Ian Christie You need to be aware of a significant career management danger. In this tough economy and job market, your professional expectations may be unmet. Whether it is job satisfaction, career development or job search success, things may not be going your way. When this happens, there is a natural tendency to disengage, to unplug. You go through the motions, but part of your mind is elsewhere; unfocused. You can instantly recognize people who are fully engaged. They are focused, working on what is most important at that time, and committed. And you can recognize those who are not. Which are you? Why your head should be in the game Here is what happens when you arent fully engaged. Your efforts are scattered. You dont do your best, which hurts you and hurts your employer, colleagues and clients. With one foot out the door and one in, you are dissatisfied which often negatively impacts your personal life. You are certainly not using your talents to their fullest. You are wasting your precious time and may be a productivity risk to your employer. You arent making a difference. In short, you are sabotaging your career. Certainly, we all have days when our motors just arent running at full speed. Thats fine. What you should be concerned with, however, is identifying if you are habitually disengaged, and if so, resolve to snap out of it. What can you do about it? 1. Diagnose yourself Take a page from Dr. Phil and accept reality. Is your head really in the game or not? Here are some statements to test yourself: * I am frequently or always dissatisfied with my work situation and I havent done anything concrete to resolve it * I tend to complain, put the blame on others, or I have developed a cynical attitude * I always have one foot out the door, keeping my options open, but never acting on them * I jump from job to job, assignment to assignment without really settling, or making a difference * I havent made a noticeable difference where I work or the projects I work on * My performance barely meets expectations, or worse * My mind wanders during my work day and I have trouble focusing and delivering on projects and responsibilities * I feel bested or outclassed by colleagues or customers when I am discussing work-related things. I dont have a lot to say. * My presentation is weak, sloppy or lacking direction * I dont have a plan as to what my next steps are from now, going forward If you answered yes to 1 or more of the above, then follow the remaining steps. 2. Try and figure out why One way to do that is to review your history. Is this the first time you have been in this situation or is it a recurring pattern? If the later, then the chances are that it is you rather than your environment. If the former, what is it about your current situation and environment that is causing it? 3. What choice can you make right now that will make a difference? A common reaction is to identify some large change and focus on that as the answer to our lack of engagement. If I only had this job, or worked for this company, then I would give 110%." Maybe. But what about today? We choose how we react to our environment. What can you do today? Here are some things you can do: Change your attitude. A reality-check can do wonders in changing behavior. Refocus. Go deep. Overreact. Throw yourself into your work or job search. Do your best. Immerse yourself and see what happens. Identify what motivates you and focus on building that. See if you can inject more of those motivations into what you do. In particular, those things which align with the priorities of your employer, or your own business. Find the good in your situation. What can you identify about your job or situation that is positive? Be thankful for what you have. Identify what the key success criteria are for you, for your employer, colleagues and customers. Determine how you can be successful in the current environment and focus on that. 4. Medium-term strategies: Go internal. Build on what you have started in the short-term. How can you turn this situation around and be a rousing success story? Adjust your expectations. Goals can be energizing if we actively pursue them, or a real drag on our energy when we keep them alive without making progress towards their fulfillment. Resolve to pursue those goals that mean something to you and dump the rest. Make a change. If you need to make a change, do it. But, do it with determination, passion, and focus. Get help. If you recognize a long-standing pattern of behavior and believe that its roots run deeper than career management issues, then seek qualified, professional help. Special Advice for Job Seekers As a job seeker in a tough market, you need to be engaged on at least two levels. Obviously, the first level is applying yourself with focused determination to the process of the job search itself. The second level is less obvious. You must demonstrate that you are fully engaged in your industry, profession, or particular specialty. Believe me, you will stand out more if you ooze commitment to your profession. See Creating your own Opportunities for some ideas. Being engaged or not is the ultimate personal choice. It requires consistent, daily resolve to back it up. Not being engaged is self-sabotage. The Evolution of the Facelift
by maurice pye - Friday, 8 February 2008, 11:20 AM
Anyone in the world
By Lawrence M. Korpeck, MD The facelift, one of the most popular of all cosmetic procedures, has progressed. Despite the extensive peels, laser treatments, and dermabrasion techniques available today, the facelift continues to be the technique that patients turn to when their jowls, neckline, and the areas around the mid-face begin to sag, or when their facial wrinkles and creases become deeper. The face lifts of a few decades ago involved lifting the outer layer of the skin and repositioning it. While patients emerged with tighter skin, results were often unnatural and short lived. As the medical community has come to find, it's not only the skin that becomes lax with age - the underlying muscles and ligaments are also to blame. The next step in the evolution of the facelift was the SMAS technique. By lifting both the underlying facial muscle layer, as well as the outer layer of skin, a far superior, longer-lasting result was achieved. When lifting the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, or SMAS layer, the link of the fibrous support system to the skin is tightened. Still, surgeons have recently discovered yet another layer that contributes to the laxity and poor facial definition found in both older and younger patients, as well as in those who are genetically predisposed to undefined necklines and deep facial creases. The most recent advance in the facelift has been to release a third layer of tissue containing suspensory ligaments that support the muscle. These, too, tend to become lax, loosening the muscle and skin and causing premature folds in the cheeks and around the mouth. By tightening these ligaments, the nasolabial fold, a deep wrinkle running from the nose to the mouth on each side of the face, is smoother. In the past, little could be offered to patients who wanted rid themselves of these troublesome folds, short of collagen injections. The results of the three-layer facelift are longer lasting because physicians simultaneously reposition and tighten three planes of tissue: the skin, muscle, and ligaments. Patients interested in the three-layer facelift should look for a plastic surgeon that has experience in performing these latest facelift techniques. While the results tend to be better and longer lasting, the new techniques also require a better understanding of facial anatomy in order to avoid complications. Lawrence M. Korpeck, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a distinguished fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, the North American Lipoplasty Society and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Cheap Loans Till Payday - How to Apply for a Fast Cash Advance
by maurice pye - Thursday, 7 February 2008, 09:13 AM
Anyone in the world
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Cheap loans till payday can easily be found on the internet. With a little bit of searching, you can find low fees for a cash advance. Applying for such a loan just takes a few minutes. Then you just submit your application and wait for your cash to show up in your checking account. Surf for Low Check Loan Fees Surfing on the internet will help you do comparison shopping - something you are unlikely to do with a neighborhood cash advance company. By taking a few minutes to check out fees, you can quickly find the best deal. Most lenders will post their fees as an APR, which is required by federal law. The APR determines the yearly cost of the loan. You only pay for how long you use it, usually two weeks or less. Most often the APR will be posted somewhere on the site. You can also send a quick email to collect quotes. Gather Required Information for Personal Loan To speed your application process, gather your banking and employment records. Besides basic personal information, payday loan companies also request employment information and your checking account routing numbers to wire your funds. Some lenders also require that information be faxed, such as copy of drivers license, pay stub, and bank statement. For the quickest application process, pick a no fax application process. These lenders will still verify your information, but you wont have to worry about faxing forms. Submit Loan Application And Wait A Few Minutes The actual application just takes a few minutes to fill out. With your information handy, you can type the data in the fields in no time. Then you simply press submit, and the information goes to your payday loan company over a secure server connection. All you have to do is wait a few minutes for either a phone call or email to confirm your application. Then you will find out your loans status, and when you can expect your cash advance. The majority of companies will wire your funds the next day, but some will do it in an hour or less. Once your funds have been deposited, you can start using your cash. The Nuts and Bolts of Marriage - Do You Qualify?
by maurice pye - Thursday, 31 January 2008, 10:56 AM
Anyone in the world
By Angie Lewis So you want to get married and maybe have a family later on down the road. Do you really know what you are getting yourself into? Are you ready to share a big part of yourself with your future spouse for the rest of your life? Marriage isn't about doing what "you" want. It is about doing what "you both" want. Are you ready to humble yourself to your spouse when arguments can't seem to get rectified? Are you ready to commit yourself to your spouse through the bad times as well as the good? This is what the nuts and bolts of marriage is all about. No one says marriage was going to be easy. But if you want to stay married for life then you need to be committed and convicted to work at what you started. Don't be a poor sport and quit the game early. All marriages, and in any condition can be saved with the proper resources. The problem is couples are using the wrong resources to fix their marriage. They don't understand the nuts and bolts of marriage. During the early years of marriage you might see a handsome prince and a beautiful Cinderella but after going through so many years of behaving selfish and having unresolved issues pop up, your prince might now seem like an ugly old frog and your Cinderella may seem to have turned into a wicked witch. Oh no, now what? Of course, other people won't see your spouse in the same negative light as you do. But that's marriage for you. Unhealthy marriages don't ever see their spouse in the same positive light as they once did. The reason for this is quite clear. No spirituality to base the marriage upon because the marriage is based upon self-interest. Are you married to yourself? Then go right ahead and continue supporting the marriage upon your ego. Many marriages of today don't even have a bond to begin with. What seems like connectivity between two people really is lust filled euphoria of the newness of each other, and after while, especially where there is no love, gets humdrum. Marriage needs love to survive. What does marriage mean to you? Marriage could mean considering the feelings of another and enjoying the companionship of another. It could mean playing the give and take game fairly. Marriage means commitment. 1. Are you ready to consider the feelings of another person? You do want a healthy marriage, don't you? Well in a healthy marriage, selfishness is non-existence! In a healthy, growing and satisfied marriage, couples do not think in the sense of I, me and mine, but rather in the sense of, we, our, and us. In other words, it is not what "I" want but what "we both want". 2. Are you and your future marriage partner compatible? Don't think you can change the person you married. It doesnt work like that. How it does work is both wife and husband find the areas in themselves that need changing and work on those areas of self so they can become better marriage partners to each other. 3. Are you willing to compromise with your spouse? A healthy marriage takes a lot of cooperation. There is no room for stubbornness, self-righteous behavior, rebelliousness, or selfishness in marriage. Where are the team players? You can be a great team player "if" you play the game fairly. If you cannot play fair, dont get married! It's as simple as that. 4. Are you prepared to totally commit to your spouse and stay married for life? I know that NOW you say yes to that question but what does marriage mean to you? Answer that and you will know your answer. What does your way of life tell you about what's right and good for your marriage? Are you going to value your marriage with the importance that it deserves? Marriage will be the most important commitment and promise you make with another person. If you think that promise is going to get broken, then dont even think about getting married, I don't think you qualify. ~~~ Angie Lewis is the author of Journey on the Roads Less Traveled, a book about love, life and marriage. Angie has written a new book, Love The Man Your Married. In her book Angie shares and answers comments and questions from married couples about marriage related issues that affect couples today. The book involves all areas in marriage that couples need to know and understand and apply for a successful marriage. This book is a most reliable resource for married couples, from infidelity issues to complete forgiveness. It is my hope that all couples find and begin to utilize the biblical truths for their marriage by reading and studying this book. Decorative Metal Work Techniques From The Early 1900s
by maurice pye - Wednesday, 30 January 2008, 01:42 AM
Anyone in the world
By Colin Croucher Today's Metal Craft workers should truly appreciate the artistic skills & techniques used exclusively by the highly skilled metal artisans from almost one hundred years ago. Decorative metalworking is undergoing a new renaissance as more & more people become involved in hobby metal craft. The skilful use of simple metal craft hand tools, allows the worker to create fine metal work items. The casual onlooker of the magnificent ornamental metalwork's found on many historic public buildings in the USA, United Kingdom, Canada & many other countries, would hardly realize the many painstaking weeks or months of work involved in creating these elaborate metal works. Every day, thousands of people walk straight past the beautifully crafted iron work, & decorative iron arches in public buildings & gardens, and not give them a second glance. But the new age metal-craft worker of today would stop and admire & appreciate the design & craftsmanship skills required to create these superb handmade iron & metal-works of yesteryear. It is a learning experience. Examples of old bent iron design work can also be used as inspiration for ideas to incorporate into new items made for today's lifestyle which any skilled metal worker of today could reproduce, things such as: garden structures, outdoor garden furniture, household utensils, or high quality items could be produced to sell to customers who are willing to pay the price for custom made iron & metalwork items. But first, the metal craft worker needs to re-learn the special old time metal working skills used create these beautiful metal works Most of this knowledge has been preserved for anyone who wants to become involved in artistic metal work. An ebook has just been republished which explains in full, the correct way to go about designing genuine reproduction bent ironwork, this ebook will show the novice or advanced metal worker the design concepts, and how to transfer drawings into real life full size objects. Ironworkers over a century ago did not have arc welders to join their creations together, instead, they used special methods to bind the intricate metal work together, many of which are still in good repair today, even after one hundred years, such was their skill. Metal work skills also combined the art of chemical etching of intricate designs onto copper and brass, & special methods of colouring or creating patinas on all kinds of metals for different unique effects. Sheet metal cross strips and borders were also used for outdoor garden tables and chairs, this exacting skill is explained and described in detail so that the home hobby metal worker can reproduce them. The special skills explained in the ebook will enable the artistic metal worker to recreate ornamental iron works just like the metal craft masters did over a century ago. Food Trends for 2007 and Beyond
by maurice pye - Tuesday, 29 January 2008, 08:07 AM
Anyone in the world
By Kathi Dameron Suddenly, from the depths of an otherwise peaceful evening, a story idea stirred across my imagination. I sprang to my feet with exuberance. In artistic abandon, I tossed aside the original article that I had penned for today's column. My thoughts raced ahead in favor of a daunting new idea. Today's column is going to explore some new taste trends for 2007 and beyond. Trends are an indicator of the direction that a society is moving towards. From a curious student of life and sociological perspective, it is fascinating to watch how cultural trends evolve through periods of history. We experience "AHA" moments that help us to better understand the times in which we are living. Food trends, like other trends of a society, paint a picture of interconnection. Here is my take, a kaleidoscope view if you will, of some current and/or future trends that I envision will flavor the culinary landscape in future days. Vintage Cuisine We will see a revival of foods that were popular in our parents and grandparent's day, however, these foods that I've labeled Vintage Cuisine will excite the palate with new twists in presentation and interpretation. The artery-clogging components will continue to be lightened up in fresh and exciting ways. Slow-roasted meals with rich depth and intriguing flavors will become increasingly popular and will be interpreted in ways that merge the goodness of the garden with global tastes in a continually evolving synergy and fusion. The Slow Food Movement will continue to pick up speed. Tried and true rustic-flavored farmhouse favorites like pot roasts, shepherds pie, savory stews, cassoulets, meat loaf, lamb and veal shanks, and other succulent slow roasted meats and vegetables will tickle our taste buds. Regional, Local Ingredients We will see a continued movement towards locally produced agricultural products. Neighborhood farmer's markets and regional green markets that sell organic products will continue to find popularity as the "in place" for conscientious shoppers. There is a trend to want to know where our food comes from. We want to know how our food is grown, and some of us like this writer, want to understand the landscape and know that contaminated water is not flowing down a hill into the fields where the crops are growing. After watching news reports that some bagged spinach leaves, green onions and alfalfa sprouts had turned deadly with E.coli bacteria, we started asking more questions of our food purveyors. As a result, we will see the introduction of smart-packaging technology that will be debuting sometime in 2007. This new technology will allow a big red 'X" to appear on a bag of produce if the bag contains E.coli, salmonella or any other strain of bacteria present inside the bag. Fusion Cuisine We will see more flavorful interpretations of the fusion between regional and global cuisine. It's a small world, after all. Creative cooks will explore the endless possibilities that fusion cookery offers. Watch for South American, Spanish and Mediterranean foods to be especially hot trends. Multi-Tasking Antioxidants and Performance Boosting Foods Antioxidant foods that are packed with multi-tasking nutritional dividends will continue to be popular. We want to know what our foods can do for us. What happens inside our bodies when we eat a particular food? The war on trans fats will continue and we will become more aware of the ingredients and additives that are slowly killing us one spoonful at a time. We are becoming more empowered to read the ingredient lists on a package and google the names of ingredients that we don't recognize. Passionate Cooks with Great Entertaining Personalities will continue to be the face of food television Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, and Ina Garten are three faces that have become synonymous with the Food Network. However, with the boom of cutting-edge digital technology products, the possibilities for a great cook with a great personality on video are wide open. Home Entertaining Trends The art of entertaining well at home will continue to be a driving force connecting family and friends in inspiring ways. We will see more ways that entertaining and hospitality can be used for a greater common good. A perfect example of this is being done by Florida's new Governor Charlie Crist who is opening up the Governor's Mansion to everyday folks for informal discussions about Florida's future. As is often the case, I have many more delicious and festive ideas to share. Is an MBA Worth the Time and Money?
by maurice pye - Monday, 28 January 2008, 02:19 AM
Anyone in the world
By Ioan Hepes It depends what your priorities in life are. Before asking the question, you should be clear about what you are trying to achieve with an MBA. It does not only mean higher salary, better position but also much more working hours (50-100% more than for a normal job) and more responsibilities, more stress - you also have to be psychically and physically fit for this (consulting and management jobs require lots of travelling, adapting the body to quickly changing factors, less time with the family). If you are ready for such a challenging life than the MBA is really worth the time and money. Of, course, the MBA should be at least accredited by one of: EQUIS, AMBA or AACSB. It is an invaluable resource of networking, contacts, getting the soft skills to mastery level and getting the tools for a successful career in management, finance, marketing, etc.. Recommendable would be a 1-year full-time program, or an accredited part-time / distance MBA in order to keep the time and money factors as optimal as possible. Today there are so many offers available that you should really spend a while analysing the best oportunities. Having a look on the accreditation lists of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA, or on the Financial Times, Forbes or Businessweek rankings might also be helpful. Ioan Hepes is currently working as Consultant in Hamburg, Germany. Prior to this he has worked in large corporations like IBM, Siemens and Airbus, an NGO which is part of the Open Society Foundation, a financial software company and as Teaching Assistant at the International University Bremen. Need A Loan - Guess The Interest Rate
by maurice pye - Sunday, 27 January 2008, 04:45 AM
Anyone in the world
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Challiner]Michael Challiner How do you find the best interest rates if youre planning to apply for a loan? Until relatively recently, it was simple. There were plenty of lists of comparative rates published in table form on various websites. You could take your pick and investigate the terms of the cheapest lenders. This approach is not so easy any more. Many banks are choosing to use a new system where the rate offered is dependent on your personal credit profile. At first glance, this appears to be a very fair system, but in fact would-be borrowers will have no idea of what interest rate theyll be offered and so will be unable to make comparisons. The Halifax, HSBC and Bank of Scotland have all switched to personal pricing and no longer advertise typical rates. In fact, most of the twenty leading lenders have adopted this method. The result of this is that customers applying for a loan will have very little idea of what rate theyll be offered, or whether theyll be accepted. This is a ridiculous situation as no should have to go blind into a credit application without a good idea of the interest rate. Its difficult to find out the rates by multiple loan applications, as each credit application is marked on your credit file. Lenders are understandably concerned where there have been excessive searches carried out and therefore the apparently simple process of achieving the best rate for your loan could affect your credit rating! Even applying to your present bank for a loan will still require a credit check, but you may be able to gain some idea of what the interest rate is likely to be and most banks would, presumably, like to keep your business. A representative of one of the leading banks has said the lending is on dangerous ground at present and that there are huge debt problems in the UK. Because of this, loan applications are increasingly likely to be rejected. Where banks are still advertising headline interest rates it appears that lenders are failing to follow through with offers to a high proportion of applicants. Those who are successful are often offered a higher rate than the one advertised. The Consumer Credit Act 2004 stipulates that lenders who advertise loans using a typical rate must lend money at that rate to at least 66% of successful applicants. Obviously by not showing a commitment to a rate, lenders can evade this rule. A recent survey showed that, of almost 3,000 people who applied for a loan, 40% were refused almost immediately and 25% were accepted without delay. However some days later the remaining applicants were still waiting for a reply and it is expected that a further 17% will fail to be granted the rate they applied for. There are a great many people applying for loans with the lowest headline rates and very many of them are going to be disappointed. Doubly so, as with every rejection they are putting the chance of obtaining a loan from another lender in jeopardy. A browse through the internet will find you an advisor who should be able to offer some guidance and help you to avoid any nasty surprises. Choose A Wolff Canopy Tanning Bed
by maurice pye - Saturday, 26 January 2008, 07:11 AM
Anyone in the world
By Claris T. Lindig Wolff has a great line of tanning canopies and canopy tanning beds to choose from for home use. They offer great pricing and financing so why not choose a Wolff canopy tanning bed for your home? There's a big difference between a tanning canopy and a canopy bed. The tanning canopy costs about one third of what a tanning bed costs and it's a lot more convenient easily moved from one location to another. There's no need to have a permanent location and you just plug it in and use it. You do however have to tan each side individually. Here are a few canopy choices. 1. Sunquest 1000 Has 6 angled Wolff lamps that cover you with UV rays that provide a deep dark tan. The curved canopy covers you from side to side. The long lasting DuraMax frame is built to last. It has a wide metal base that keep it stable and safe. It's definitely a step above the rest! Uses regular 110 so just plug it in and use. 2. Sunquest 2000 Has 10 - 100 watt angled Wolff lamps that cover you with UV rays that provide a deep dark tan. The curved canopy covers you from side to side. Definitely above the competition! The long lasting DuraMax frame is built to last. The gas hinge system is computer controlled and the protective canopy allows more UV rays to cover the body. It has a wide metal base that keep it stable and safe. It's definitely a step above the rest! Uses regular 110 so just plug it in and use. Both models have a canopy that is fully adjustable so you can store flat in almost any room closet or corner. Heavy duty rollers make it easy to move across the floor. And the improved technology has provided both models with a great deal more flexibility in adjusting the angles. Now that's convenient! If you prefer a canopy bed rather than a tanning canopy not to worry because Wolff has plenty to choose from. Here are two beds worth checking out. 1. SunQuest Pro 16RS This is probably the best home tanning bed on the market delivering the ultimate in power with top notch lamps that maximize the tanning capability. The cooling system will keep you comfortable will you soak up those rays. The Duramax 2000 exterior housing is easy to maintain and it even comes with a protective canopy grind. This lightweight bed can be plugged into you wall circuit making it nice and convenient with no additional wiring required. 2. Wolff SunVision Elite 32 Bed Wow - now here's some top notch tanning power with these 32 body lamps. This is real salon quality but for the home market. The Wolff lamps provide their standard deep tan with 16 canopy lamps and 16 bench lamps you're wrapped in UV rays. Just 20 minutes of your time and you'll be well on your way to the golden tan. It comes with a convenient digital timer, superflow cooling system that keeps you comfy during your session. The Biotech design with its 7 foot surface is perfect for almost any body size and the aluminum and steel frame is sturdy and durable. The Duramax 2000 exterior is easy to care for and maintain. Claris has worked for a tanning salon for more than 5 years and has extensive knowledge on both tanning methods of products such as lotions, sun screen and home tanning beds. At http://www.tanning-guides.com , Claris will give you a 2-Week "Perfect Tan" regiment that will provide you with the exact shade that you want without sacrificing your skin health. Harvesting the roots for a single pound of material for the distillation of essential oil requires removal of 1,000 pounds or more of earth. A thick, resinous oil with deep, dark and mysterious energies to support and comfort us through our darkest night.Vetivers smooth earth scent has the power to resonate deeply within to calm even the most rampant fears and misgivings.Vetiver connects and energizes the natural self. Helpful for symptoms of shock and trauma!Resonates with the Muladhara or Root (First) Chakra. Promotes sense of belonging and community roots, feeling at home on Mother Earth. Useful when feeling vulnerable and needing help dealing with long term stressful situations. Vetivers tranquil and evocative beauty whispers sweetly supporting us to face our shadows. Strong dislike of Vetiver's earthy aroma may be the result of disassociation from or rejection of ones instinctual nature. A powerful immune and circulatory stimulant Vetivers neuro-receptor process has been well-documented in controlled experiments explaining Vetivers action on the circulatory system. Vetivers action to stimulate the production of red blood cells makes it useful for relieving stress and tension held in the body. Relieves muscle aches and pains and joint stiffness. Vetiver warms and balances the heart, mind and soul! Creates opportunities and attracts abundance. Excellent base note in prosperity blends! The Wild Crafted hydro-diffused Vetiver is an excellent example of how this oil should smell. It is truly lovely! Most Vetiver is traditionally distilled in cast iron leaving it with a burnt after odor that distracts attention from its full bodied depth and loveliness. I absolutely love Vetiver and use it frequently in my aromatherapy practice. Vetiver is restorative and revitalizing. It lends comfort and support in any situation. A mild sedative Vetiver promotes rest and relaxation. Helpful as a sleep aid! Vetiver is excellent for skin cell rejuvenation and healing. Use as a hair, skin and scalp reconditioner. In Ayurvedic Medicine, an ancient system of healing practiced in India, the warm sweet earth aroma of Vetiver oil with its spicy undertones is ideal to regulate and pacify ALL the Doshas. Vata, Pitta and Kapha bodymind types respond well to the balancing effects of Vetiver essential oil. Symptoms of Vata imbalance are premenstrual syndrome, constipation, insomnia, restlessness, nervousness, anxiety and worry. Symptoms of Pitta imbalance are high blood pressure, anger, frustration and emotional upsets, inability to go with the flow. Symptoms of Kapha imbalance are high cholesterol, low metabolic forces, slow to lose weight, fluid retention, stagnation and blockage, lethargy and depression. BLEND WITH: Petitgrain or Orange. Vetiver works well as a stand alone, yet blends well with a variety of oils. Use it whenever you need to anchor a blend, or need a lower base note to help your formula sing!
