Puffy eyes are a major concern among women (young and old) who believe this should not be part of the female beauty package. Yes and how right they are - but unfortunately even though we agree - some women struggle to avoid this condition from occurring. As of 2004, there are an estimated 10.6 million privately-held firms in the U.S. that are 50% or more women-owned, accounting for nearly half (48%) of all privately-held firms. These firms generate 2.46 trillion in sales and employ 19.1 million people nationwide according to the April 2004 biennial update on women-owned businesses by the Center for Womens Business Research. The report was based on U.S. Census Bureau data. Im sure it comes as no surprise to you to learn that selling goods and products to women (especially women business owners) is different than selling to men. If youd like to do business with this huge segment of the business world, what do you need to know? In my business as a marketing consultant for women entrepreneurs, I've discovered six easy, but essential, principles for doing business with women business owners. They are: - Start small. - Look at the big picture. - Sweat the small stuff. - Less is more, as long as its quality. - Build relationships through education. - Stay visible and involved. Now let's look at these principles a little more closely. Start small. Women business owners (WBOs) tend to be very cautious. They make very careful decisions that are well-thought-out. Because of this, WBOs will generally purchase something small or hire a consultant to complete one project before committing to an ongoing relationship and a huge investment. Although this isnt always cost-effective, it gives them the opportunity to try the product or service before they invest significant dollars. Sally Falkow, branding strategist with Falkow, Inc. in Pasadena, Calif., agrees. Women business owners have a tendency to 'stick their toes in the water.' Many of the women business owners I deal with are eager to learn about how the Internet can expand their business. But they do it on a gradient. This way they can cope with the new technologies and get one aspect under their belt at a time." Look at the big picture. Studies show that women-owned businesses have a better success rate than those owned by men. Their businesses generally grow slowly and steadily, and they dont spend money carelessly. For instance, when Jo DeMars, president of DeMars & Associates, Ltd., a dispute resolution firm in Waukesha, Wis., began her business, she borrowed office space, purchased used furniture, and only spent money if she absolutely had to do so. She always paid her bills on time and was very careful about who she hired. When I got client work, I wouldnt hire for the position until I had the contract signed, says DeMars. She now has 27 employees and contracts with Ford Motor Company and Daimler Chrysler in Calif., among others. Looking at the big picture helped her stay on track. Sweat the small stuff. If you get the little stuff right, women will be less concerned about the big stuff. Thats because women are into details. They want to know everything about a product or service before they buy it-not only how it works and what it costs, but also what kind of support can be expected and how long it will last. Gathering information is an ongoing process for women. How are you dressed? Did you shine your shoes? Were you genuine and honest? Have you done what you said you would do? Do you send professional follow-up notes? Does your office run smooth as silk? All this makes a difference for women. As a woman business owner, I not only look for this in my vendors, but at Rowenas we only hire people who are detail minded. In a retail and wholesale foods business like ours, focusing on details is absolutely essential, says Rowena Fullinwider, president of Rowenas, a gourmet cake and foods company in Norfolk, Va. Less is more, as long as its quality.
Women business owners often have an overflowing plate. They usually work many long hours building their businesses, while also taking care of children, a husband, parents and pets; volunteering for charities; and managing the familys social calendar. So they dont have time to spend lots of time researching and analyzing everything they buy. If you can educate, advise and service her business without patronizing her, you'll be a star. "Making careful decisions raises my comfort level of success. I'm not afraid of risk, thoughtful risk. Knowledge and expert advice is critical. I know I can not be an expert in all fields, so I build in security by consulting people who are. This minimizes my financial outlay in the long run." Stay visible and involved. Women are loyal creatures. Once you are successful at selling to a woman business owner, you are very likely to keep selling to her for years to come. Of course, this means it often takes a long time to make your first sale. She will need to know that you are always there, but not always there to sell. So get involved with business organizations to which she belongs, like the Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Women Business Owners, BNI, and the Working Womens Forum or your local womens group. Be an active member and prove that you do what you say you will do. Shell begin to trust you and look to you for her buying needs. Anyone in the world By Matthew Robert Payne 1 Peter 4:8-10 (New King James Version)
8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. I have a wonderful friend that gives and gives and gives to me. He gives me his time, he gives me his money and he gives me his ears as I speak and cry out my pain. There is a verse in the Bible that says a good friend is closer then a brother and this is what this man is to me. My friend Yianni has a fervent love for me and his love for me has covered a multitude of my sins against him. Time and time I have been angry at him and a few times we have had fights where we broke up as friends but we continue to forgive each other and come back to each other. Do we love each other with a burning love, with an all consuming holy love with that love of 1 Corinthians 13 1 Corinthians 13 (New King James Version) 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. I speak in tongues and can interpret tongues in public meetings but fall way short of this kind of love in all my actions and this makes me a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy. I have the gift of prophecy and have blessed many people with this gift but I have fell way short in love on many more occasions. I show partiality in those that I chose as friends. If people dont listen to me and want to dominate me I dont want to be their friend, but its okay for me to do that to them. and understand all mysteries and all knowledge. I dont understand all the mysteries and all knowledge but I dont even apply the knowledge of this love chapter as a model on how to love so how foolish am I? and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. This week I was struck down with a sleeping illness, part of my mental illness where I could not get out of bed, and I was desperate. A man from overseas wrote to and I told him of my condition and he wrote me an answer. Dear matthew Thank you for the reply, For your sickness, please do this: Take some salt put it in lukewarm water, make a prayer to cleanse your body and drinking it. Its what I hear God says to you. Its by faith, I do hope you get this evil out of your body soon, it is stopping you from your work in Christ. May you be blessed as you obey his simple instructions. Cheers Well I took his advice had the restaurant I ate at prepare the cure and prayed a prayer of faith and swallowed it and today I was able to get up okay and did not have a day overcome with tiredness. Yet I still lack in love and you could say that even opening up to you like this is a kind of boasting which is not my intention. Joseph who gave me that answer from the Lord for my illness is a valuable man of God and very humble and yet pure love is not puffed up the scripture says and is not rude which I often am. I am not sure how I will be able to preach in the future when I get a lot of these things sorted out, I wont be able to illustrate my points as well. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, I often give of my money to the poor and yet I still lack in grace and love for people that I should be respecting. I so often dominate conversations and this is not respecting others or being loving. The other day when my depression had me worn down and this sleeping sickness had come over me I wanted just to be dead and in heaven and I wanted to give up. But there is no place to go. I cant go back to the world, and I couldnt cure myself so I cried out to the Lord for him to heal me. Ten minutes later the healing was in my email box. The Lord is good. Did you hear that guys? The Lord Jesus Christ is good and His Father in Lights is awesome and their grace and healing powers who can fathom? I love Jesus. Who can consider going back to sin lifestyle and the way of the world? Have you got this form of love? A burning fervent love? One that can heal through seeking the Lord for a cure to a brothers illness and the faith to write it down. Joseph was loving to me and shared his gift with me through love and faith. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
