We chose mates based on 8 types of intelligence, not just the one or two IQ tests measure. Here are those 8 types of intelligence: 1. Interpersonal Intelligence (People Smarts): the ability to understand other peoples intentions, motivations and desires. We are attracted to people smarts people because they relate well, have many friends and are cooperative. They are also sensitive to our feelings, fears, moods, temperament, motivations and intentions. They are genuinely empathic, and genuinely concerned about what is happening to us moment by moment. 2. Linguistic Intelligence (Word Smarts): the capacity to use language to express what's on your mind. Human courtship is largely through the use of words and people who are good at thinking in words and using language to express and appreciate lifes beauty and complexes are very attractive because they excite, please, convince and stimulate us by the way they use words to convey information. 3. Musical Intelligence (Rhythm Smarts): the capacity to think and communicate using rhythm. This is what I like to call the Elvis Presley Phenomenon. Men and women with this trait have the unusual ability to make the rest of us feel what they feel, become one with them, and together with them. Their song becomes my/our song because we feel connected to them in a deeper and more primal way. We even want to take on their identity - amazing! And to think I always wanted to be Michael Jackson - before the plastic surgery! 4. Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence (Body Smarts): the capacity to use your whole body as intelligent communicator of ideas, emotions, desires etc. Were attracted to people with this trait because body smart people are body expressive, they have good timing, coordination and reflexes, they like physical contact and are very responsive, they have exceptional control of their bodies and as a result excellent in using their bodies in the bedroom - or where ever you prefer to do it.. 5. Mathematical Intelligence (Logic Smarts): the capacity to understand the relationship between cause and effect and manipulate numbers, quantities, and operations. We attracted to people with this intelligence because of their ability to think and reason deductively and inductively. They are usually organized good planners and most of us enjoy some level of certainty. They are also good at handling and managing money and financial investments. 6. Naturalist Intelligence (Jungle Smarts): sensitivity, respect and understanding of the delicate balance and deep relationship between the nature within and the nature outside (other creatures and features of the natural world). Although we've come along from the jungle days our Psychological brains are still programmed to be attracted to people who can effectively deal with their surroundings. People who are savvy about their environment make us feel safe and happy" because we know we can always count on them to introduce us to the mysteries and wonders (nice restaurant, discount store, important people and connections etc) and protect us from physical harm. 7. Intrapersonal Intelligence (Self Smarts): having an understanding of yourself; knowing who you are, what you can do, what you want to do, how you react to things, which things to avoid, and which things to gravitate toward. We are drawn to people who have a good understanding of themselves because they tend to know what they can and can't do, and to know where to go if they need help. They can be relied on to take care of us when we can't take care of ourselves. 8. Existential Intelligence ( Life Smarts ): the ability to be sensitive to, and have the capacity to pose and ponder larger questions such as the meaning of life, why are we born, why are some people evil, why do we die, what is consciousness, or how did we get here etc. We are attracted to people with this intelligence because they are fully aware and appreciative of the world we live in - its diversity, complexity, and wonder. And if we are open to it, they take us to places that our fearful minds are usually afraid to go. Come to think about it. It seems to me that were not that very different from our ancestors because survival selection still shapes how we chose a mate and who we find attractive. If youve been focusing your energies elsewhere like in pick-up lines, tricks and techniques, you are riding in the wrong banana boat. Why not just focus on developing the traits of kindness and intelligence and let survival selection take its course? My interest is in - how we can take advantage of this knowledge so that when a man or woman comes looking we will be chosen as the desired mate. an elaborate fruit or vegetable garden, you might consider planting and
maintaining an herb garden. While the product might not seem as
significant, youll still enjoy the constant availability of fresh,
delicious herbs to flavor your meals with. First youll want to choose the herbs that youll plant. You might have a
hard time doing this because of the huge scope of herbs available. But the
best way to choose is to do what I did; just look at what you have in your
kitchen. By planting your own collection of these herbs, you can save
money on buying them from the grocery store while having the added benefit
of freshness. Some of the herbs you might start with include rosemary,
sage, basil, dill, mint, chives, and parsley among others. When choosing an area to put your herb garden, you should remember that
the soil should have extremely good drainage. If the dirt gets watered and
stays completely saturated, you have no chance of ever growing a healthy
plant. One of the best ways to fix the drainage problem is to dig a foot
deep in the soil, and put a layer of crushed rocks down before replacing
all the soil. This will allow all that water to escape, thus saving your
plants. When you are ready to begin planting herbs, you might be tempted to buy
the more expensive plants from the store. However, with herbs it is much
easier to grow them from seed than it is with other plants. Therefore you
can save a bundle of money by sticking with seed packets. Some herbs grow
at a dangerously fast rate. For example, if you plant a mint plant in an
open space then it will take over your entire garden in a matter of days.
The best way to prevent this problem is to plant the more aggressive
plants in pots (with holes in the bottom to allow drainage, of course). When it comes time to harvest the herbs you have labored so hard over, it
can be fatal to your plant to take off too much. If your plant isnt well
established, it isnt healthy to take any leaves at all, even if it looks
like its not using them. You should wait until your plant has been well
established for at least several months before taking off any leaves. This
wait will definitely be worth it, because by growing unabated your plant
will produce healthily for years to come. Once youve harvested your delicious home grown herbs, youll want to use
them in cooking. Why else would you have grown them? Well first the
process begins with drying them out. This is easily achieved by placing
them on a cookie sheet and baking them 170 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 to 4
hours. After theyre sufficiently dried to be used in cooking, you can
consult the nearest cookbook for instructions on using them to effectively
flavor a dish. If you want to store your herbs for later usage, you should keep them in a
plastic or glass container. Paper or cardboard will not work, because it
will absorb the taste of the herbs. During the first few days of storage,
you should regularly check the container and see if any moisture has
accumulated. If it has, you must remove all the herbs and re-dry them. If
moisture is left from the first drying process, it will encourage mildew
while you store your herbs. Nobody likes mildew. So if you enjoy herbs or gardening, or both, then you should probably
consider setting up an herb garden. It might require a little bit of work
at first to set it up for optimal drainage, and pick what herbs you want
to grow. But after the initial hassle, its just a matter of harvesting

Certainly it helps if two people have some things in common regarding
how they like to spend their time. It also helps if they have common
values around religion or spirituality, around politics, the environment,
abortion, and personal growth. It helps if they both eat junk food or both
eat organic food. It makes things easier if both are neat or both are
messy, if both are on time people or both are late people. Physical
attraction is also quite important. Its great if they have common values
around money and spending. Yet a couple can have all of these and still not have a loving relationship
if one element is missing. Without this essential ingredient, all the other
wonderful attributes will not be enough to make the relationship work. This essential ingredient is about intention. At any given moment, each of us is devoted to only one of two different
intentions: to control or to learn. When our intention is to control, our
deepest motivation is to have control over getting love, avoiding pain,
and feeling safe. When our intention is to learn, our deepest motivation
is to learn about being loving to ourselves and others. The motivation to get love rather than be loving can create havoc within
a relationship. Lets look at a typical relationship issue and see what happens
regarding the two different intentions. Jason and Samantha are feeling
emotionally distant from each other, and they havent made love in a
month. The problem started when Samantha stated that she wanted to
take an expensive vacation and Jason objected. Samantha got angry,
Jason gave in, and they have been distant ever since. Samanthas intention was to have control over getting what she wanted.
She equates an expensive vacation with love if Jason does this for
her, then he proves his love for her. She used her anger as a way to
have control over getting what she wants. She wants control over feeling
special to Jason. Jasons intention is to avoid pain. He gave himself up to have control
over Samantha not being angry with him. He hopes that by giving
Samantha what she wants, she will see him as a good and loving
husband. However, because both Jason and Samantha were trying to control
each other rather than be loving to themselves and each other, their
interaction created emotional distance. What would this have looked like if their intention had been to learn? If Samanthas intent had been to learn, she would not have become
angry. Instead, she would have wanted to understand Jasons
objections. If Jasons intention had been to learn, he would not have
given himself up. Instead he would have wanted to understand why this
particular vacation was so important to Samantha. Both Samantha and
Jason would have been caring about themselves and each other, rather
than wanting to get love or avoid pain. In their mutual exploration about
why they each felt the way they did, they would have learned what they
needed to learn - about themselves and each other - to reach a win-win
resolution. Instead of Samantha ostensibly winning and Jason losing,
they would have come up with something both of them could live with.
With some exploration of his financial fears, Jason might have decided
that the vacation Samantha wanted would be fine. With understand of
Jasons financial concerns, Samantha might have decided on a less
expensive vacation. In either case, both of them would have felt fine
about the outcome. No matter how much Jason and Samantha have in common or are
attracted to each other, their love will diminish when their intent is to
control rather than learn. Its amazing how quickly love vanishes when
one or both partners have the intent to control. Its equally amazing how

The best example that displays several different types of corruption that are taking place in the FDA is the case of Vioxx and the COX-2 inhibitors. COX-2 inhibitors are a class of drug that help to relieve the symptoms of arthritis. Vioxx had been heavily promoted to both doctors and the public and was used by over 2 million people giving it a yearly sale of over $2.5 billion dollars. Suddenly, on September 30, 2004, Vioxx was withdrawn from the market after a clinical trial showed that it more than doubled the risk of heart attacks and strokes. The FDA failed to mention that they had pushed Vioxx through the approval stage so fast, they failed to do the necessary studies to prevent harm to the American public. They made one mistake, and they corrected it by getting Vioxx off the market, right? Well they followed it up by going against the better judgment of most professionals in their field by leaving all the other COX-2 inhibitors like Celebrex and Bextra on the market.
Strike two. It didnt take long and within several months there were reports that the other drugs were experiencing the same problems and they were taken off the market as well. In lieu of all this controversy, the FDA created an advisory panel to look into the case. The panel consisted of two advisory committees; one for arthritis and the other for drug safety. After several days of deliberation, the two panels concluded by a narrow margin that even though there was no doubt that the COX-2 inhibitors increased both heart attacks and strokes, the benefits outweighed the risks and all the inhibitors would be allowed to return to the market just with stronger warning labels. After the fact, research into the FDA cases revealed that many members of the FDA advisory panels for both the original approval as well as the committees that voted to re-release the drugs back on the market, were paid consultants for the drug companies. When a member has financial ties to a company that is up for approval or review, that member is supposed to excuse themselves from the decision. In the meeting for the approval of Vioxx for of the six members including the chairman, had financial ties to Merk, the maker of Vioxx. Even more conspicuous is that according to the New York Times, on the panel that reviewed the COX-2 inhibitors to determine if they would be placed back on the market, ten of the members that voted had financial ties to one manufacturer. Oddly enough, the vote was nine to one in favor of Vioxx. It is clear that the easy standards of approval for drugs, the sluggish response of the FDA to the clear danger of a drug on the market, and the undeniable conflicts of interests of the members of the FDA all play a part in the grand scheme of stealing and harming the American public.
