How To Make A Candy Cane Christmas Bouquet
by brunhilde lang - Wednesday, 9 April 2008, 02:48 PM

By Peta Fletcher Wow! I can't believe it. It's almost Christmas time again! Every year it seems to get here quicker and quicker! This Christmas I decided to make some Christmas themed bouquets to surprise friends and family who will see us over the holiday period. This candy cane bouquet looks great, and doesn't take long to make. It's can also be a fun and simple project for children to make. You will need: 50 mini candy canes 1 bunch of silk poinsettias 1 bunch of silk holly Thick wire and some thin wire Stem tape Step 1: Wire and tape the poinsettias and holly... Wire and tape all the poinsettias and holly onto the thin wires. Do not remove the leaves, as these will help add some more variety to the candy bouquet. Step 2: Wire and tape the candy canes... To wire the candy canes just place the wire against the candy cane then stem tape into place. DON'T try to twist the wire around the candy cane as it will make the candy break! Step 3: Start arranging the candy bouquet... Take seven of the poinsettia flowers and hold them in one hand. Now place five candy canes in-between the flowers. If you want to make the bouquet bigger use more flowers and candy canes in the middle of the bouquet. Fan the flowers and candy canes out a little to give the bouquet more shape. Step 4: Add the holly... Place nine pieces of holly around the outside of the poinsettias. Now take another seven candy canes and place them in-between the holly, making sure the candy canes can been seen in the middle and around the outside of the bouquet. Step 5: Wire and tape the handle... Trim your wires and then tape your handle. Step 6: Add any extra items you desire... You can add some extra items to add some variety if you wish. Tinsel and little boxes wrapped to look like presents are very effective. You could keep the red and white theme going by adding red and white ribbons on the outside of the holly. Finally, to display the candy cane bouquet, just place it in a small vase on your table at Christmas time. Just make sure you make a note of how many candy canes are in the bouquet because they may suddenly start to vanish! This quick and easy bouquet will add that nice touch to any Christmas table. Peta Fletcher has been making bouquets for over 14 years. Her website has lots of free information on bouquets, including how to make a wedding bouquet, and how to make a candy bouquet Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Peta_Fletcher http://EzineArticles.com/?How-To-Make-A-Candy-Cane-Christmas-Bouquet&id=390810 pharmacy phentermine cod phentermine 37.5 no prescription mastercard buy phentermine online consultation buy phentermine cheap 37.5 mg no doctor contact no rx
A Child's Guide to Adoption
by brunhilde lang - Tuesday, 8 April 2008, 10:54 AM

By Martha Osborne How is a family created? Most people think that a family is made when a couple gives birth to children. But families can happen in many ways. In the television show The Brady Bunch, the mother and father get remarried, combining their two families into one. Another way to create a family is by adoption. In legal terms, once a child is adopted, the adult who adopted him is his parent. How is a family created? Most people think that a family is made when a couple gives birth to children. But families can happen in many ways. In the television show The Brady Bunch, the mother and father get remarried, combining their two families into one. Another way to create a family is by adoption. In legal terms, once a child is adopted, the adult who adopted him is his parent. Why do people want to adopt children? There are probably as many reasons for wanting to adopt kids as there are children waiting to be adopted. Some couples are not able to have children for medical reasons but still want to raise a family. Some single adults, although they don't have a partner or want to get married, desperately want to be a parent. Other kids' parents might remarry and their new stepparent might adopt them. Whatever way a parent and child come together, whether it's through birth, marriage, or adoption - a new family is born. What's Adoption and How Does It Work? The process of adopting a kid can be pretty long and involved. Some single adults and couples have to wait for years to adopt a baby. People wanting to adopt go through extensive background checks including, in some states, having their fingerprints sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). People who want to adopt kids also meet with social workers or representatives from an adoption agency who ask questions like why they want to adopt, their attitudes toward children, and how they resolve family disagreements. This process is needed so that kids are placed in good homes where they can grow up happy and loved. Why Do Kids Need to Be Adopted? Of course, the financial side is only part of adoption. Babies and kids are a huge responsibility and not everyone is equipped to handle being a parent. If you've ever taken care of a puppy, you know that taking care of a pet can be very demanding, and they require lots of attention. Taking care of a baby is probably a hundred times more work! But this is only one of many reasons why there are so many kids waiting to be adopted. In many cases, a young or single woman who gives birth to a baby can't handle that responsibility so she makes an adoption plan for her baby. Other times, especially in the case of adoptions from other countries, there is war, sickness, or poverty, and a parent may believe that the baby would be better off in another country. Sometimes a kid's parents may pass away and he needs to go to someone else who can take care of him. If You Were Adopted Kids who were adopted are no different than other kids. But if you were adopted, you may have a little more on your mind than your friends. Sometimes, learning you were adopted may make it hard for you to pay attention in school. Many kids who were adopted wonder about their birth parents and why they didn't keep them. Sometimes they feel abandoned even if they love their parents and are happy in their home. They may also wonder where they came from and what nationalities they are. These feelings are normal and should be talked about with a parent or another adult who you trust so you can put your mind at ease. Some kids do not find out they were adopted until they are older - sometimes not until they are adults themselves. Their parents might have put off telling them until they thought they would be able to better understand or because they feared what their reaction would be. Finding out later that they were adopted can be more of an adjustment for an older child or adult. That's why experts say it's best to explain to a child that he or she was adopted when they are around age 3 or 4, when they are first putting sentences together and can understand complex things. If Your Brother or Sister Was Adopted If your parents had you, the so-called "real kid," does that make your adopted brother or sister fake? Of course not! Being adopted doesn't make a sibling any less real or part of the family. There is no question that there are differences between you and your brother or sister. But there would be differences between you if you were both born into your family as well. No two people are alike. Think how boring that would be! The facts are, your brother or sister - adopted or not - is going to be a part of your life for a very long time and you will rely on each other even more as you get older. Talk to your adopted brother or sister about his or her concerns. You might be able to help him or her sort out his or her feelings about being adopted or encourage him or her to talk to a parent or another trusted adult. You might even suggest that you talk about the situation as a family. If Someone You Know Was Adopted If you find out that someone you know, maybe a good friend, was adopted, there is no reason to treat them any differently. Your friend is still the same person they were the day before. If your friend wants or needs to talk about their situation, listen. Your friend will probably feel better just talking about his or her feelings, and by being a good listener, you've been a good friend. Knowing how your friend feels about their situation will allow you to stand up to anyone who tries to make fun of them for being different. Adoption can be hard to understand or even accept, but it helps many people in lots of ways - parents who may be unable to take care of kids can place them with people who can, and kids without parents can be part of a family. Asian Green Tea and Weight Loss
by brunhilde lang - Sunday, 6 April 2008, 11:31 AM
Anyone in the world
By Bill Nadraszky Asian green tea has been around for thousands of year. It is believed that Asian green tea was discovered by a Asian emperor by accident. It comes from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis, as traditional black tea and oolong tea. For centuries, Asian medicine has used it to treat headaches, digestive problems, lack of energy, and immune enhancement. The Asian diet green tea is produced by steaming the fresh tea leaves at high temperatures, leaving a significant part of the nutritional enzyme content intact. Different from the black and oolong tea, the green tea is never fermented. Instead, its leaves bypass the fermenting process and steamed, baked or pan heated. The leaves are rolled and those tightly rolled leaves have long been considered as a sign of quality. Is Asian diet green tea effective for weight loss? These days, the Asian green tea is considered as beneficial for weight loss. Several indications were revealed that Asian green tea brings a number of benefits to those trying to lose weight. Green tea extracts are capable of reducing fat digestion by inhibiting digestive enzymes. Other studies have shown that green tea has thermogenic properties, which are perhaps brought on by the interaction between its caffeine content and catechin polyphenols. Thermogenesis is the process of the body burning fuel without making chemical energy. Experts believe that if combined with the other weight loss supplements or techniques, the Asian green tea could be an excellent addition to your diet. Does the Asian diet green tea got other benefits? There are also other benefits connected with the intake of Asian diet green tea. One of those is the belief that the polyphenols found in green tea have been shown to inhibit growth of cancer cells. The polyphenols appear to block the formation of cancer-causing compounds, and it is believed that the Asian diet green tea has the greatest benefit on cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. The Asian diet green tea polyphenols are also powerful anti-oxidants. They are even more powerful than vitamin C and vitamin E, and more powerful than that found in many fruits and vegetables. The green tea itself contains vitamin C. More researches have found out that the compounds in green tea stimulate immune system cells. In recent years, research has shown that green tea may reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. It is even good for the teeth as it contain fluoride that helps fight tooth decay. Considering the fact that the Asian diet green tea has all these benefits, it is recommended that you take it up into your diet. You do not really need to want to lose weight since you can still benefit from the teas other benefits. Look after yourself and treat yourself the foods and drinks that can positively help you keep healthy. Drinking Asian diet green tea is a nice habit to develop, especially if it is a good quality, pure organic green tea. It tastes good, may help protect your heart, reduce your chances of cancer and help to keep your weight down. Start drinking Asian diet green tea today! There are more health benefits in store for those drinking green tea as well as weight loss. Check out my extensive green tea information site to find out more. The Wedding

By Bob Casey Weddings are a time of celebration (an obvious statement and no revelation). Perhaps you have found, like me, that some are more fun and stand out in your mind more than others. Sometimes, the beauty of the ceremony or the obvious love of the couple leaves memorable imprints. Other times, the fine meal and wines are the most remembered. Then there are the flawless ones where everything goes like perfect clockwork from the delivery of the vows to the after wedding party. In recent memories, two weddings fit the latter. One, the marriage of my niece Holly to her husband Rob. I still visualize the peaceful floral outdoor setting followed by a wonderful meal. How my sister and brother-in-law planned for months to create a lasting memory for their daughter and new son. More recently, my niece Erin and Patrick were wed. Over the months, we watched and listened as Erin's parents along with the couple planned, worked, and strategized to create a perfect wedding experience. The momentous day finally arrived. Following the ceremony, family and guests headed to the Capitol Hyatt in Columbus for a party second to none. A sixteen-piece band played as toasts were raised and fine food was served. Then the obligatory first dance arrived. All smiled, many remembering their own history. Then, wow! The couple stopped the music. Everyone was stunned. But not for long! Erin and Patrick, with microphones in hand, suddenly burst into song, accompanied by the band, singing an unabashed rendition of "I've Got You Babe of Sonny and Cher fame. Suddenly, an aura of amazement descended upon the crowd. Smiles, applause, and laughter filled the room as two expressed their obvious love for each other. I have never seen anything like it as the air was charged with good will, hope, and best wishes. I smile now as I write this. Life's celebrations, aren't they wonderful? The Facts About Cosmetic Surgery
by brunhilde lang - Tuesday, 1 April 2008, 04:53 PM
Anyone in the world
By Jenna Keys Cosmetic surgery is big business now, the advances of science and technology meaning it has become more affordable and much more accessible for anyone to consider it. Far from breast enhancements being the only option anymore, there are operations that can be done on virtually any part of your body to aesthetically enhance your appearance. Getting the body beautiful has never been such a viable option as it is now. Types of cosmetic surgery. Reading any daily newspaper (usually the tabloids) will give a good indication as to the types of cosmetic surgery that are available. It seems that nearly every popular celebrity has had Botox injections or a face-lift to improve their appearance but cosmetic surgery isnt just about improving your appearance to fit in. Disfigurations can have a detrimental effect on many peoples lives, and cosmetic surgery is a reasonable answer to the psychological problems that can accompany them. Acne scar removal is a relatively simple operation and can change lives in a matter of weeks. Pierced ear repair and tattoo removal are also becoming very popular as more and more young adults are having body piercing and tattoos only to want them removed later in life. Then, of course, there are the physical changes that some people feel are required to keep them at the peak of their physical appearance. Botox, (curiously enough, was originally a form of germ warfare!) , has become very popular as Botox injections are considerably cheaper than having surgical lifts. Botox works by temporarily paralysing muscles and fixing parts of the body in certain positions. It can be effectively used to remove laughter lines or wrinkles but is only temporary so regular visits are needed to keep the appearance they give. Breast enhancement and reduction are as popular as ever with women, and many breast cancer victims have breast-rebuilding treatment in order to regain their natural body shapes and confidence. Face lifts help mask the natural signs of aging by pulling the skin tight and removing wrinkles and bags. Tummy tucks, Rhinoplasty (the political correct version of a nose job) and Liposuction are also available. These are a few of the more popular versions of cosmetic surgery but if there is a part of your body you arent happy with there is bound to be a surgeon somewhere that can do what is required. Is cosmetic surgery safe? Unfortunately, due to the money involved in cosmetic surgery, there have been a number of more unscrupulous surgeons offering their services at reduced costs. These surgeons usually have little or no qualifications and avoiding them is the most important thing you can do if considering cosmetic surgery. Selecting the right clinic can take time, and definitely isnt something you should rush into. Always select a clinic that boasts recognised qualifications; a little research on the Internet will tell you whether a qualification has been earned, bought or simply printed. Only consider using a clinic that offers a one-on-one with a surgeon before operating. They should be able to advise you on all aspects of your chosen surgery from the benefits, the look and feel, the actual operation and any side affects that may be associated with it. If they dont offer this, then you should reconsider using that particular clinic. What should I ask my surgeon? You may have a little knowledge or you may have a lot of knowledge about your chosen surgery, but you should always research a little yourself before you visit the clinic for your one-on-one. Know what you are stepping into. By looking on the Internet and perhaps ringing around several clinics asking for information you will probably be presented with a few questions you want to ask. Do not be afraid to ask the questions, no matter how trivial or how stupid they seem. There are a number of questions you should always ask a surgeon or a clinic before you make that all-important final decision. These questions should include, but not be limited to, asking about any side effects. If you are told there are no side effects you should be very wary indeed. Consider the side effects on a tub of painkillers you can buy over the counter. The list is seemingly endless, and having cosmetic surgery will undoubtedly have a longer list of potential side effects than taking a couple of Paracetemol. Question your surgeon about his experience and qualifications. Usually the certificates will be framed on the wall of their office, if not, do not be afraid to ask. A reputable surgeon will be only to please to show you his certificates. Ask how long the treatment will take and how much time will be needed to recover. Ask is there are any alternatives, surgical or non-surgical. Once you have all the facts you will be in a position to make a better informed and accurate decision. The bottom line on cosmetic surgery. Many people consider and have cosmetic surgery and the decrease in price has brought with it a wider array of potential treatments. Surgery isnt always necessary but, if you have your heart set on it, then be sure to thoroughly research every aspect of your treatment, the clinic you intend to use and the surgeon who will carry out the procedure. Ask plenty of questions about experience, qualification and side effects. Once you have all the knowledge, and if you are sure you want to proceed then at least you know you have done as much as possible to make sure your cosmetic surgery is done safely. That Perfect Dating Profile

By George Wood In the world of online romance, little things mean a whole lot. Just a picture and all that it communicates replaces all of those signals you exchange in an in-person flirting situation where eyes meet, you hear his or her voice and nonverbal communication is more powerful than words. But words are all there is for the most part when it comes to attracting the opposite sex online. Yes, later after you have met and are communicating regularly with your lover, then you can move to voice over internet, microphones, or webcams to make the relationship more real. But that moment of first contact, similar to the pick-up line or first flirtatious eye contact is replaced online by your profile. So putting some time and effort into making that profile sing out all the wonderful things you are will bring a reward of many interested contacts from online lovers. That first impression When you get started using your online dating service, take note of how you go about looking at the men or women you might want to contact. You use their search function to find people in the categories in terms of age, gender, preferences, interests, and physical appearance that you want to get to know. Then when you get a screen full of names, you might just get the picture in a thumbnail and a pick-up line from that person that you can use to see if you should open up their full profile. There you have everything you need for that first hook to get the opposite sex to look at you. You have the search engine, the thumbnail picture, and that hook line. - Look at your picture in terms of what is says in a thumbnail view. Make sure your image is large enough to be the center of attention. Have someone else evaluate it in that light. - Get to know the search criteria very well on your dating service. Then tinker with your profile so your information is hit the most often of all when the guy or gal you want to meet goes looking for a match. - Read several hook lines and decide what works for you. There are humorous ones, ones that are romantic, others that seem full of fear. Try to create one that really says to the prospective lover, "Look at me." Write out about twenty in your word processor before picking just one. Do Your Homework Finally, spend some time becoming a student of profiles. Read lots of themnot just of people who you are interested in, but also from people like you that are using the service. You might, as an exercise, go into your service and look for yourself. Do a search and see who the hits bring back. This is your competition. Study their profiles and create yours in such a way as to grab attention and get that inquiry before they do. And dont be afraid to change your profile and photo often. That will keep you fresh and people who are doing this search over and over each week will recognize you and see the new information and give you a fresh look. These tips will help you bring in more contacts from your online dating service and result in more romance and fun for you in this exciting new romantic world. How To Translate Past Life Experience into Business
by brunhilde lang - Saturday, 29 March 2008, 04:15 PM
Anyone in the world
By Maxine Thompson As a self-publisher, you become a business person. Your book is your product. Your readers are your customers. When I first made my career change, I didnt think I had any business savvy. After all, I had been in a social service agency. I did court reports, visited children and parents, and handled emergencies. I was not a welfare worker, so I didnt deal with money. True enough, I did budgets and clothing orders, but overall, headquarters handled the money. My commerce was in the arena of human suffering, addictions, and family dysfunctions. Back in 1998, I went to a writers conference with a business woman, and I spent most of my time delivering poems and looking at the other exhibits rather than manning my own booth. Later, I said to my older son, (who has his own business), "I guess Im not about business." Yes, you are about business. Dont say that." He was referring to my ability over the years, as he called it "to wring water from rice." From that I began to analyze my skills Id gained over the years. As a working mother, I had put many of my dreams on hold while I worked, and reared a family. Like Mary Kayes philosophy says, God, Family, then career. So now I am gleaning through the five philosophies I learned as a social worker, which I have applied over the past 6 years as a literary service provider, Internet radio show host, ghost writer, and now new literary agent. Treat every client (or customer) with respect. As a social worker I often dealt with derelicts, substance abusers, and prostitutes. I still felt that they were all worthy of human dignity. Because I treated them as such, they in turn, treated me with respect. The payoff: I was never assaulted during 23 years of working in high crime areas in the inner cities of Detroit and Los Angeles. When youre doing book signings, no reader is too small to not meet with a smile. Listen to their stories. Often they will come back and buy your book. Ive found the same applies in doing business with other businesses. You must have good interpersonal skills to work with people. This means you will not constantly be embroiled in arguments and disagreements. When I have problems with technical difficulties on my Internet shows that are beyond my control, Ive learned to be reasonable and not throw my hands up. It is important to never lose your momentum when you are building an audience, and this means sometimes having to accept that human beings error. They are late, sometimes they dont even show up. I usually rectify the problem with getting a free shownot quitting the show altogether. Create a bank of good will, where you can call on people for favors during a crisis. As long as you have a plan, doggedly stick to it in spite of obstacles, you will come out ahead in the end. As an emergency response worker, one evening I was assigned four foster children to place at 5:00 p.m. closing time. Meanwhile, my own child was at a day care, which closed at 6:00 p.m., and I had guests from out of town who I planned to be at a play with at 8:00 p.m. I managed to get to everything on time. I worked it out through delegation and support from co-workers I had previously helped. I also picked up my child before I placed the two remaining foster children. From this Ive learned the invaluable capital found in human relationships. I share resources with other writers and they have shared resources with me. Its like the story of "Stone Soup." Ive given and received much in return. Your emergency is not my emergency, because you didnt do what you were supposed to do. Although I never said these words, it helped my attitude when I discovered that the name of the game was pass the buck. Often, superiors did not follow through with problems, and when emergencies erupted, they wanted to dump on the lower man on the totem pole, ergo, the worker. I found this was not a trap for me, because if you took care of what you were supposed to take care of, covered your bases, you could have grace under pressure. Working in a bureaucracy, the best way to run your desk was to keep your work in order. Whenever there was an investigation, it always blew over, because you kept your business in order. As the boss of your own business, it translates into "expect Murphys Law." What can go wrong, will go wrong. Always be prepared with Plan B. Books do not always come from the printer on time. People try to blame you for things going wrong. Just stay cool and set strong boundaries. Everything will work out fine, that is, as long as you take action. I always answered every phone call and dealt with every problem as it arose. This kept small problems from snowballing into larger ones. Likewise, I am learning that this applies to following-up on calls and e-mails that are important for networking, even as a writer, Internet radio show host, literary agent, or literary service provider. There is no emergency except death. After my mothers death, I went into low gear, and nothing else could phase medeadlines, sanctions, subpoenas. So what? became my attitude. When I measured everything on the Richter scale of death, or perhaps because of this attitude change, it was never a big thing. The main thing was that I never lost a foster child (to death) on my caseload, because I had made a bad decision. This was in spite of the fact that the department I worked for constantly added more paperwork. On the upside, this paperwork brought in Federal funds and guaranteed the social workers job. But on the downside, this also increased the social workers demands (stress), and the number of foster children who werent visited on a monthly basis. Subsequently, there was an increase in the number of foster children who died under suspicious circumstances, and an increase in social workers and supervisors being fired from their job. Had a child died because I failed to visit him or made a bad decision, then "that" was an emergency. The paperwork I managed to keep up with, but I knew the main priority was child safety. Thus, I can say that I was a success as a social worker. So one can reason if they have been in another career, Ive done this before. There is a generic principle here. What is it? My answer is this: Just as I was successful doing crisis work, I began to see success in my business when I believed I could be successful in my writing, and dealing with other writers. Recently, I have seen an upturn in my literary agency in terms of deals closed. In spite of let downs, disappointments, and delays, persistence is beginning to pay off. By Blake Sylvia Perhaps you are like me and you have tried to eat right and exercise, but your inability to get healthy has led to years of frustration and feelings of failure. You may believe that you are destined to be fat forever. I have great news for you--don't give up just yet! I was 41 years old, 70 lbs overweight, my cholesterol was 240 and I was ready to give up on my dreams of ever getting healthy when the idea for the Before, During and After Program came to me from seemingly no-where. I believe this idea may have been divine intervention for my life-long struggle with weight control. Before, During and After is a program that requires drinking a structured amount of water around meal time. Following this program has completely turned off the mechanism that triggers hunger, making it easy to lose weight! I lost 70 lbs in 7 months on the BDA Program and have kept the weight off for one year. I enjoy food more than I ever have and my cholesterol has dropped from 240 to 158. My energy level is higher than it has ever been, which has turned exercise from a drudgery to a pleasure. I have excellent muscle tone and I have had many people tell me that I look 10 - 20 years younger! This program will help you succeed at portion control without being hungry. I have learned that a little exercise will go a long way toward helping you shed those extra pounds when you reduce the amount of food you are eating. The positive health effect of increasing our water consumption is well documented. The experts tell us to drink 64 - 72 ounces of water a day, which most of us don't do. This program is a tool that will help you drink the recommended amount of water, reduce your hunger and jump-start your weight loss efforts. Start drinking that water, I am living proof that it can make a huge difference. Blake Sylvia lives with his family in Baytown, Texas. Making Votive Candles

By Mike McDonough Votives: Getting Started Votives are arguably one of the easiest kinds of molded candles to make. They add a great deal of charm to just about any setting. The typical votive will burn for approximately 15 hours and will consume just about all of the wax that was used to create it. A properly crafted votive will liquefy to some degree as it burns. This is necessary to achieve good scent throw. Votives are not intended to be free standing candles. Therefore it is important to burn votives only in a holder that is intended for votives. What you will need: Wax suitable for votives Wax additives (only if needed for your wax formulation) Fragrance oil (optional) Dye (optional) Pre-tabbed wicks suitable for votives (36-24-24 zinc core used here) Metal Votive Molds Mold release spray (optional) Pouring pot Thermometer Step 1) Prepare your molten wax mixture. You should be able to review these instructions while your wax is melting. Before continuing, set up a double boiler to melt your wax. A good target temperature for votives is 175 F. Once your wax has completely melted, add any additives you have selected and mix thoroughly, but try to avoid introducing air into the mixture. Add them in the following order: 1.Additives such as vybar or stearic acid (but only if needed) 2.Fragrance Oil 3.Dye (this is done last so that you get visual confirmation that everything else has mixed well with the wax) Before pouring your wax, you may want to lightly coat your molds with a very thin film of mold-release agent such as silicone spray or a Pam-type cooking spray. This helps aid the release of the finished candle from the mold. However, it is really only needed with new molds. Step 2) Votives: Initial Wax Pour Place your votive molds on a newspaper-lined surface to catch any spills. With your wax at the proper pouring temperature (about 175 F), fill your votive molds to the lip of the mold. The objective here is to get the wax just up to the lip without over flowing. If you pour to a level lower than the lip, you may get seam lines in your finished candle. Care should be taken to minimize the number of bubbles introduced while pouring. Save about 20% of your wax for the re-pour at a later step. Do not return it to the heat source. Step 3) Add Pre-tabbed Wicks. Wait for your wax to cool for a short period of time. While it is cooling, prepare your wicks by straightening them. They do not need to be perfectly straight at this point; a loose approximation of "straight" is fine. Once the wax just begins to congeal, insert your pre-tabbed wicks. The tab will "stick" to the bottom when it touches. Care should be taken to position the tab roughly in the center of the mold. FYI: Why wait for the wax to begin congealing? At the temperature of the congealing point, the wax is cool enough that it will not interfere with the firmness of the primed wick. It also is the temperature that allows the metal tab to "stick" to the base of the mold. At higher temperatures, the wick can be a little more difficult to manage (not impossible). Once the tab has stuck to the base of the mold, it is very easy to manipulate the wick to straighten it. Sometimes you may wish to wait a few moments to allow the metal tab to form a stronger bond with the base of the mold before attempting to straighten the wick. During the cooling process, the shrinking wax may pull the wick off-center. If this occurs, simply apply a light tug to straighten the wick from time to time. Do not use so much force as to free the metal tab on the base. Allow your wax to completely cool before proceeding to the next step. This may take 3-4 hours. Step 4). Votives: Re-pour Wax When the wax has completely cooled, it will have shrunken a bit, leaving a sink hole that needs to be filled. Melt down the wax that you saved from step 2 above. This time, your target pouring temperature will be 10-15 degrees hotter than the initial pour (pour at about 190 deg. F for this step). This increased temperature is to facilitate adhesion between layers. Once your wax is at the proper temperature, fill the molds to a level just slightly above the lip of the mold. Care should be taken to avoid spills. Allow your candles to completely cool. Step 5). Molded Candle Instructions: Remove Votive from Mold Once your votives are completely cool, remove them from the mold. They will usually slide right out without any difficulty if they are completely cool. If they are difficult to remove from the molds, place them in the freezer for about 5 minutes. This will usually do the trick. If they are still difficult, place them back in the freezer for another 5 minutes and try again. Also, for very stubborn candles, it sometimes helps to gently press the sides of the mold inward as you "roll" the mold in the palms of your hands Step 6). Molded Candle Instructions: Votives: Enjoy Always burn votives in a votive holder. Remember that they are not intended to be free-standing candles and they will liquefy.
